B’nai B’rith Israel was honored to host Associate Professor Peter Schattner, Immediate Past President of B’nai B’rith Victoria and Coordinator for Projects with Israel, together with his wife, Rosa. During their visit, they toured Ironi Yud Alef High School, a second-chance educational institution in Tel Aviv serving students from challenging and unstable home environments.
For more than a decade, B’nai B’rith Israel has partnered with the school through volunteer mentoring in core subjects and by providing scholarships to outstanding students.
The purpose of the visit was to explore opportunities for future partnership and support, as a Joint project between BBANZ and B’nai B‘rith Israel The guests met with Principal Tomer Gavish, toured the school, and gained insight into its educational mission, the complex challenges faced by its students, and the school’s growing needs as it prepares to relocate to a new campus ahead of the coming academic year.
